Sacred Places

An exploration of how and why places become invested with SACREDNESS and how the SACRED is embodied or made manifest through ART and ARCHITECTURE

Paul Devereux

Paul Devereux is the author of many books, including Earth Lights Revelation; Places of Power; Earth Memory; Secrets of Ancient and Sacred Places; Symbolic Landscapes; Shamanism and the Mystery Lines; and The New Ley Hunter's Guide. His most recent book, The Long Trip, explores the prehistory of psychodelia [see synposis and a review at amazon.com].

Until recently, Paul Devereux was editor of the The Ley Hunter Journal (now online: see Ley Hunter Journal) for which he continues to serve as consulting editor. He is also a consultant and main contributor for Earth's Mysterious Places, Volume 8 of the Reader's Digest Quest for the Unknown series. He has also co-authored several books and contributed chapters to others. He is a frequent lecturer and workshop leader and is broadcast widely on British and American radio. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Full Member of the Society for Scientific Exploration (USA), Director of the Environic Foundation International, a Member of the Scientific and Medical Network, and a Research member of International Consciousness Research Laboratories.

Besides research and writing, he also directs the Dragon Project Trust, which in the past has attempted, using, among other things, scientific measuring instruments to discover whether sacred places are the sites of actual physical anomolies. The Dragon Project also conducts research at the other end of the spectrum, employing the services of dowsers, diviners, mystics and the like, in its attempt to ascertain whether or not a site has "unusual energies". It is currently running an ancient sites dreamwork project.
